Cancer Cell Research is a quarterly (four issues per year) open-access journal. Each issue is published on a regular schedule and contains a collection of high-quality research articles focused on cancer biology, therapy, and clinical research. The journal strives to provide timely dissemination of significant findings in the field of cancer research.
2. Submission and Review Process
Submission: Authors can submit their manuscripts via the journal's online submission system at any time. We encourage submissions of original research articles, reviews, and short communications.
Peer Review: Each submitted manuscript undergoes a rigorous peer-review process, with typically two to three independent expert reviewers evaluating the manuscript for scientific validity, clarity, and originality.
Decision Timeline: The editorial team aims to provide an initial decision on all manuscripts within 1 week after submission, depending on reviewer availability. Authors are notified promptly with either an invitation for revision, a rejection, or an acceptance.
3. Publication Schedule
Issue Frequency: Cancer Cell Research publishes four issues per year, typically in the following months: April, July, October and December. Manuscripts accepted after the deadline for a particular issue will be included in the following issue.
4. Early View
Accepted articles are published online as Early View (ahead of print) shortly after the final acceptance. These articles are available for immediate access and citation while waiting for the next scheduled issue. Early View articles are fully peer-reviewed and include all final content (including figures, references, and supplementary material). They are assigned a DOI and remain available for the academic community.
5. Final Issue Publication
Once the content for an issue is finalized, it is compiled and published in the official issue. Articles are then assigned volume and issue numbers, and they are made available as part of that particular issue. The final online-ready PDF, with volume and issue details, is also made available for downloading and printing.
6. Special Issues
From time to time, Cancer Cell Research may publish special issues focused on particular areas of cancer research, emerging topics, or collaborative efforts between multiple research groups. Special issues will follow the same peer-review and publication timeline but may have unique deadlines depending on the topic and guest editors.
7. Timeliness and Accessibility
Cancer Cell Research ensures that all published content is immediately accessible to the global scientific community through its open-access model. All articles, both Early View and final issue versions, are freely available online without any subscription or paywall. This allows for the widest dissemination and impact of the latest cancer research.
